Sliver

"Sliver"  - a story by Vladimir Zazubrin , written in 1923 and tells about the activities of emergency commissions during the red terror . It was first published in 1989 in the literary magazine Siberian Lights . In 1992, based on this work, the Russian-French film " Chekist " was shot.

The preface was written by Valerian Pravdukhin for the proposed publication of the story in 1923, but the work was not printed, and therefore the preface did not see the light of day. Subsequently, both Zazubrin and Pravdukhin were shot during the Great Terror of the late 1930s.

V. Zazubrin makes an attempt to find a new form for depicting the revolution. The very style, its rhythm - severe, sharp, stingy and percussive - this is the rhythm of the revolution - in his words, "a beautiful and cruel mistress", which destroyed not only the old world order, our former, individualistic beautiful soul, but also makes us live, feel according to -in a different way, affirms a new pace, the rhythm of our spiritual experiences.
